IMMERSIVE LIBRARIES AND MUSEUMS.

Immersive Libraries and Museums. Immersive Education website  http://JiED.org
The Journal of Immersive Education (
Immersive Education Libraries and Museums Technology Working Group (LAM.TWG)) is the source for the information below.

The Libraries and Museums Technology Group is a branch of the Immersive Education that I have talked about in an earlier blog. It is a group of professionals from iED who have come together in the iED world to grow the library and museum access. They also incorporate new technologies to existing traditional museums and libraries. The professionals work together and exchange ideas on the best ways to be constructive in connecting the virtual setting with museums and libraries.

With these professionals working together and exchanging ideas online virtual libraries and museums will improve and become more innovative. They will also be able to address both the builders of these tools and the users.By being able to address both parities they will receive the feedback to continue the growth of these virtual sites.

The uses of these programs will  be varied and will allow students opportunities to learn from first hand resources. The site allow students to use tools they would have never been able to access previously.  For instance students learning about Shakespeare can again access to the original depiction of Macbeth, something they may have never been able to see otherwise.

This is a tool that will be useful for years to come for students of all ages. With all the tools that are available for use and the way that iED allows the communication between scholars from around the country, the growth for this learning tool is limitless.
